BUCKCHERRY Settles 'Crazy Bitch' Video Lawsuit
February 22, 2008According to The Pulse of Radio, BUCKCHERRY has settled a lawsuit filed in 2006 by the mother of a teenage girl who appeared topless in the "unrated" version of the video for the band's single "Crazy Bitch". The suit claimed that the girl, who was 16 years old at the time, was "coerced" into drinking alcohol and taking off her clothes during the shoot, while the band argued that the girl had provided fake proof of age. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
In an October 2006 interview with Launch Radio Networks, BUCKCHERRY vocalist Joshua Todd was confident that the case would go in their favor. "Alls we can say about that is that the lawsuit has no merit and we're just working through it with our attorney and the truth will come out at some point, and right now we can't really talk about it," he said. "It's unfortunate that people do that type of stuff, you know. They're just out to extort money from people, you know. I'm not saying that that's the situation that's going on, but you know what I mean."
A new video for "Crazy Bitch" was subsuquently filmed.
BUCKCHERRY was the featured musical guests on NBC-TV's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on January 24, 2008. Watch the performance below.
